Visa services - Skill Stream

In the 2021-22 fiscal year, a total of 79,600 quotas were allocated to the Skill Stream. To have a speedy recovery of the economy from the epidemic and help to solve the labour shortage, the government raised the Skill Stream allocation to 109,900 in the 2022-23 fiscal year. In order to attract more excellent skilled workers from overseas and help business owners find suitable employees, and help them stay in Australia with peace of mind, the government increased the quota by 156% for the Skilled Independent SC189 visa, by 78% to The Regional SC489 Visa, and by 78% to the State/Territory Nominated SC190/SC491 Visa. There comes the good news on 20 July 2022 is that the Albanese government announced that Australia will now prioritise processing the almost 60,000 permanent visa applications lodged by skilled overseas workers.
  • Business Innovation & Investment Stream
In the 2022-23 fiscal year, the Australian government allocates 9,500 quotas for the Bussiness Immigration category. Compared with last financial year, the government reduced the quota for Business Innovation Investment Stream by 4,000.
  • Global Talent Program
The GTI program was officially launched on 4 November 2019. It aims to provide a simplified visa pathway for highly skilled professionals to work and live in Australia permanently and introduce talents to help Australia's technological innovation, development and economic growth. Introducing high-tech skills may make an outstanding contribution to Australia in introducing technology, bringing technical innovation and creating employment.
In the 2022-23 fiscal year, the Australian government allocated a quota of 8,448 to this category. It helped many top talents in different industries gain Australian permanent residence.
  • Skilled Visa & Employer Sponsored Stream
The Australian government has introduced a series of favourable policies to help the economy recover as soon as possible and attract quality overseas workers to Australia to address the employment gap. Therefore, the 2022-23 financial year will be a golden year for Skilled and Employer-Sponsored programs. The total quotas for the skilled visa, including Skilled Independent category (16,652), Regional (25,000), and State/Territory Nominated (20,000), are 61,652. And the government allocated 30,000 quotas for the Employer Sponsored category.
