Australia has a wide variety of visas for different purposes of visit. In the section on temporary visas, we listed the five most common temporary visas:
visitor visa (Subclass 600)
Applicable for: For tourists, business visitors or to visit family for 3, 6 or 12 months.

Student Visa (Subclass 500)
Applicable for: For those who visit Australia to participate in a course of study.
- be enrolled in a course of study in Australia
- must 6 years or older
- participate in an eligible course of study
- up to 5 years and in line with your enrolment
Application Fee: From AU$620
Student Guardian visa (Subclass 590)
Applicable for:
Visit to support a child who holds a student visa.
- be the student's parent, custodian or relative who is 21 years or older
- have enough money to support yourself and the student during your stay
- be able to provide accommodation, welfare and other support
Application Fee: From Au$620
Temporary Activity Visa (Subclass 408)
Applicable for:This visa allows you to come to Australia to do specific types of work on a short-term, temporary basis.
- have the skills to undertake the activity to be carried out in Australia
- be supported or sponsored
- meet additional requirements of the relevant stream
Application Fee: From AU$310
Temporary graduate visa (SUBCLASS 485)
Applicable for:
A temporary visa that allows international students to live, study and work after you have finished your studies.
- be under 50 years of age
- hold an eligible visa
- have held a student visa in the last 6 months
- have a recent qualification in a CRICOS-registered course
