Business Innovation & Investment Program

The government's quota for the 2022-23 financial year is 9,500 in the Business Innovation & Investment Program. The Australian government has significantly adjusted and reformed business immigration since 1st July 2021. They abolished the 132 series business talent visa to get permanent residence in one step, making the immigration route of obtaining permanent residence in one step for business immigrants become history. Therefore, the current visa category for Business investment is 188 Business Innovation and Investment Stream.
Starting from July 2021, the 188 Series of visa changes have been made to the business immigration category, reducing the original seven visa categories to the following four categories:
Business Innovation stream (Subclass 188A)
Applicable for:
  • Successful business owners over two years experience;
  • Hold company shares;
  • Willing to establish and operate a business in Australia.
Investment Amount: from AU$ 200,000
Investor Stream (Subclass 188B)
Applicable for:
  • Successful property investment investors;
  • Successful Stock investment investors;
  • Successful enterprise equity investment investors;
  • Successful gold/silver investment investors.

Investment Amount: From AU$ 2,500,000
Significant investor Extension Stream (Subclass 188C)
Applicable for:
  • High net worth individuals;
  • Flexible residence requirements.
Investment Amount: From AU$ 5,000,000
Entrepreneur Stream (Subclass 188E)
Applicable for:
  • Innovative senior management talent;
  • Overseas entrepreneurial talents;
  • Talents who want to start their own business in Australia.
Investment Amount: according to the needs of business activities
